Week ending 17 May

Welcome to my Friday dribble where a talk about things agri, life and sport.

We have been copping some awesome weather here in Sydney the past week, and the sea water temp is still around 19C.

With the recent rain in the bush you would have thought that the weeds would be growing and Nufarm would be coming off its low share price and picking up. Wrong.... It seems the threat of more legal action in regard to Roundup is holding them back.

Last week I touched on GNC and the fact that the guys from Long Term Asset partners pulled their bid. Since then we can see why when you look at the share price reaction. It would seem GNC has some serious issues.

Some feedback from my Melbourne trip last week and it seems Fonterra are in a whole world of pain here in Australia. 18 months ago they were taking in approx. 2.3BN litres of milk pa. Now estimates suggest that figure is down to around 1.5BN litres, with some lost to the drought and the rest going to other players including BGA. Maybe they might consider packing up and heading back over the ditch..??

On sport the aussie cricket team has the "sandpaper twins" back and we are at full strength for the ashes tour. Hopefully the boys didn't go to Bunnings for more paper before they left..!!

On politics the election cant come quick enough. Lets get it out of the way so we can get on with our lives again..!!
