Welcome to my Friday dribble where we talk things agri sport and life.

This week we spare a thought for all the firey’s out here working hard. One downside, amongst many, is that a lot of the fires have burnt right through to the beach in areas of the mid north coast of NSW.

With that and a large amount of national park being burnt, plus the drought, it puts huge strain on the beekeepers of the east coast to produce honey. Don’t be surprised if the price on the shelf goes up a lot.

I saw a great video this week from Meat & Livestock Australia where they have been working on different stock feeds to help reduce methane emissions in cows. Turns out if you can feed cows some types of seaweed then that will reduce emissions by up to 50%.

Other products are helping to, like grape marc and feeding wheat to dairy cows. It’s pretty early days but watch this space. It’s not just hot air..!!

On sport we roll back into the summer of cricket with the South African’s, the Pakistanis and the Indians all coming down under. Get the curry pot ready..!!
